Not an easy one. It is one of the advanced scoring skills and finishing moves that you can use. Here is what this looks like. It starts out just like you would do a spin move. Jump with the dribble and land with both feet and the ball at the same time.
Simple enough right? … that’s the easy part.
Now you have to JUMP again (ONLY you have to JUMP off both feet at the same time!) This is critical. Otherwise, you will sort of hop, sort of jump, sort of skip, and definitely travel.
Ok,... so after you jump off of both feet at the same time,... YOU HAVE TO LAND AGAIN… but you only land with one foot,...(the foot that is closest to the basket is the one that you land on first) then step with the other foot. The tricky part for most players is they don’t know what foot to land on first after they jump off of 2 feet.
You won’t be confused if you ALWAYS DO THIS.
After you:
FINALLY,... you have to land on the FOOT that is CLOSEST to the basket FIRST!
Then just step with the other foot and.... Wa-lahhh! YOU GOTTA IT!
A JUMPSWITCH!... With a 1,2 step into a reverse.
It’s called a JUMPSWITCH because you switch your hips in mid-air after you jump off of 2 feet.
You can do it. But you have to make sure that all of the steps are right and then have all of the steps smoothly flow together.
Just watch the video over and over on The Periodic Table of Basketball Skills.
SDC and The Periodic Table of Basketball Skills will break it down for you and show you how to do it.
Master the Table... Master the Game!
The rest comes easy.
